Educational Services

Assessment
The help we provide your child must be compatible with your family's beliefs and lifestyle. In order to do this, we meet your family at home to learn about your child in his or her home environment. This initial assessment lasts from 1-4 hours, giving us ample time to learn your concerns about your child and his or her difficulties. After this introductory meeting, we prepare a written assessment and action plan from what we assessed in your child's environment.

Targeted Behaviors
Kahlon Family Services offers an analysis of the specific behaviors that are causing you and your child's troubles, especially in the home context. We work with you and your family to help support your child's needs in the home and at school.

Playtime
We assess your child's play-related behavior and determine the steps needed to adjust and encourage proper attitudes toward recreation and exploration. Part of that is working with and teaching parents to play in constructive and healthy ways, such as following the child's needs regarding their desires during play.

Communication
Communication is both non-verbal and verbal, and being able to understand the nonverbal communication of your child can be difficult. Frustration levels increase from children when they feel they are not understood. We will help families set up a system, such as pictures, to help communicate what the child's wants and needs are.

Socialization and Group Activities
Kahlon Family Services also integrates your child into positive social group settings to accentuate the communication and positive play aspects of the services. This process is designed to improve your child's social and behavioral skills, verbal and nonverbal communication, and emotional intelligence.

Trainings/Seminars/Workshops
Kahlon Family Services can work with your school organization to train key individuals in our methods, including ways in which educational professionals can positively manage disruptive classroom behaviors. Our services are ever-changing and applicable in a wide variety of contexts, so contact us and we will work with you to tailor a program to your institution's specific needs.
